Shani Phethean-Hubble

is an artist, writer and craftsperson who specialises in the fusion of heritage crafts with contemporary design. Her specialism is in the crafts of spinning, dyeing and weaving. Shani enjoys crafting visually interesting textiles that are both practical and desirable.

Shani is currently working on her folio and exhibition which comprises her dual love of words and wool. This will showcases her colourful and tactile textiles, whilst sharing her inspirations and writing which inform her designs. The work has been produced in over twenty years in the industry, demonstrating her enthusiasm for colour and skill as an artist, maker and wordsmith.

Yarn Forward  reviewed Shani's yarn in their May 2010 issue (24).  This has generated a lot of interest and she has unexpectedly sold out of current collections.

Please note that Shani's textiles, designs and workshops have been produced and are run without support or funding from  craft council, lottery or other government agencies.

Therefore a charge is made for her time when collaborating with those who are.
